On Tuesday 13th August, a joint meeting of the Board of Directors and the Supervisory Board of the Progressive Analytical Centre o.p.s. took place. The meeting was also attended by two new members of both PAC boards: Mrs. Eva Pavlíková and Mr. Miroslav Dvořák.
With the new objectives of European Strategic Autonomy come new opportunities for Member States. With growing defence and commercial interests in the Indo-Pacific, not only Spain but also Greece, on the other side of the Mediterranean, targeting India in particular, is seizing the opportunity.
“The issue of green transition has been a long-standing and increasingly frequent topic in EU policy. Member States are agreeing at the European level to take joint action. However, the issue has to be tackled primarily at a national level with policies adapted to the local problems of the country in question. In addition to society itself, private actors are also vulnerable to Member States in the green transition and the fight against climate change. It is these that the states are trying to help with their national Recovery and Resilience Plans, jointly financed by EU funds.”
Spain holds the Presidency of the European Union from 1 July. The current Presidency faces many challenges: from security to energy, health and foreign policy. In all cases, Spain has an important role to play in the development of the Union as a whole.
